Flower Mountain Discovery Park / CHINA

The inspiration for the development of this park started with the design of several puzzle and block toy concepts. The client wanted to develop a unique cohesive brand that inspired discovery and play. Subsequently, variations on each toy concept were developed into architectural elements and quirky, colorful characters that ‘inhabited’ the park.

The proposed Flower Mountain Discovery Park was planned and designed for a picturesque 98-acre site with undulating topography and a small mountain (Flower Mountain) situated between the park and a residential site.

Starting this project with toy designs was pretty unorthodox, but the client didn't really have a clear vision for the property. They really liked the concept of the Legoland Parks, but of course, we needed to come up with something original.

We took the blocks and started to craft a story around their existence. The story was tied to the site and surrounding area. A nearby historical rock quarry became the starting point of the story where the character, Chang, stowed away on a river boat and floated down the river towards the development site near 'Flower Mountain'.
